Trade Show Exhibit Tips - What Makes a Great Trade Show Booth

Whether your industry is media, automotive, agriculture or anything in between, there is likely a trade show for you to exhibit your business to an audience that really cares. A trade show exhibit is your company's opportunity to reach out to prospective customers and clients with a visual message that sells your product or service. When designing your trade show booth, there are several factors to consider that will contribute to the success of your trade show experience.

Simplicity:
While you may want your trade show booth's design to convey as much information about your company as possible, too much information is not necessarily a good thing. A complicated design that provides too much to read or look at might be daunting to viewers, as they won't know where to begin or won't even bother reading long paragraphs. Keep your exhibit straightforward: Determine your primary message, avoid clutter, and grab your audience's attention with bold colors and simple graphics.

Organization:
Your trade show booth not only tells people about your products and services, but it also showcases your company's abilities as a successful business operation. If your booth is disorganized or your staff appears overwhelmed, people will assume that your company runs the same way. Designate an area out of people's view to store any extra brochures, giveaways and other items that might clutter your booth. Staff your booth with qualified workers who can generate leads as well as keep the booth running smoothly.

Communication:
A colorful exhibit with flashy graphics and elaborate demonstrations might be eye-catching, but is it communicating a clear message to your visitors? In a matter of seconds, your booth should be able to tell people who you are and what you do, even from across a room. Keep your message simple and focused, and remain consistent throughout mediums. Your booth should represent the same theme as your brochures, Web sites, demos and giveaways. Make sure the words on your exhibit stand out and are easily read. Fancy fonts or light colors are difficult to see and might cause people to miss or skip over your booth.

Your trade show exhibit can determine a viewer's first impression of your business. Be sure to showcase your strengths as simply and clearly as possible, and keep in mind that a little can go a long way. Put the same amount of time and effort into the design of your trade show booth that you would put into a final presentation for a big client.
